Armodios M. Hatzidakis, MD, FAAOS, is an orthopaedic specialist at Western Orthopaedics, P.C., in Denver, Colorado. He specializes in the treatment of shoulders and elbows, including shoulder and elbow replacements, arthroscopic surgery for athletic injuries, rotator cuff, instability and fracture repair, and complex revision/salvage surgeries. Dr. Hatzidakis follows a patient treatment philosophy with a basis of treating patients the way he would like to be treated - through active listening and thorough examination.
Dr. Hatzidakis earned his Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Iowa and his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He then completed a combined residency and orthopaedic surgery training program at the University of Nebraska and Creighton University in Omaha. Dr. Hatzidakis followed his education with advanced training with American and European shoulder and elbow fellowships, spending a year with upper extremity specialists in San Francisco and eight months at centers of excellence in England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France.
To share his knowledge of complex shoulder reconstruction techniques, Dr. Hatzidakis teaches other surgeons and co-authors articles and book chapters on shoulder surgery. He is a Neer Clinical Science Award recipient for excellence in shoulder and elbow research. Dr. Hatzidakis is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
