Tobin's Story
My name is Tobin Threadgill. I am a 62-year-old professional athlete, author, and teacher of classical Japanese martial arts, with a dojo in Evergreen, CO. My teaching duties take me all over the world.
In 2018, after many years of arthritic shoulder discomfort, I sought to identify a shoulder replacement procedure that would allow me to continue teaching and training in contact martial arts without the limitations of the commonly employed strategy utilizing a plastic prosthetic on the glenoid. Eventually, an orthopedic surgeon in Texas suggested I contact Dr. Armodios Hatzidakis at Western Orthopaedics in Denver, CO.

Four years ago Dr. Hatz operated on my right shoulder to repair a torn rotator cuff, and he and his assistant, Duane, did a terrific job. My right shoulder has been like new ever since. Recently I began experiencing some pain in my left shoulder so I came in this past week to see Duane and get x-rays for a diagnosis. Duane was so thorough and personable that I just had to write to say thanks.

Kathryn's Story
One year ago I had my 4th total shoulder replacement done over a span of 50 years. From 2001 to 2010 I was in pain every day. After having surgery last year, I am now pain free. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Hatzidakis. My husband and I like to travel to places where we can snorkel and be in the water, and it's so much more enjoyable now. My range of motion is great considering how many surgeries I've had on my left shoulder.

I was referred to Dr. Hatzidakis by a plastic surgeon, after two failed surgeries. My tendon was frayed from bone spurs, which popped after surgery. It was necessary to go back in to fix it, but it did not and I was told to live with it! My muscle was in constant spasm, falling down, painful and quite unattractive. When I first saw Dr Hatzidakis, he took the time to actually hear me, was genuinely concerned,and explained to me what he would do. You are a true gem that is not easy to find.
